Like stars so close and yet so far
the lives around a dwindling light
of memories recalled at night
the ones that left a trace or scar.
And none I’ll take away with me
when death shall come to claim,
none to keep and none to blame
for what it was or couldn’t be.
Like passing clouds across the sky
with time some memories are gone,
the lives that touch me deep inside
like distant stars to them I’m drawn.
